8-9 May 2017 - 11th WORKSHOP FOR DISABILITY UNITS OF UNIVERSITES WAS HELD IN BULENT ECEVIT UNIVERSITY.

The Workshop for Disability Units of Universities, held in different universities every year and organized the 11th one this year, was hosted by Bulent Ecevit University (BEU) on 8-9 May 2017. About 200 academic-administrative personnel and university students from 74 universities participated. The opening of the workshop, which was held on Monday, May 8, was attended by Zonguldak Governor Ali Kaban, Rector of Bulent Ecevit University, Prof. Dr. Mahmut Özer, General Director of Special Education and Guidance Services of the Ministry of Education Celil Güngör, General Director of Disabled and Elderly Services of the Ministry of Family and Social Policy İshak Çiftçi, Council of Higher Education (YÖK) Student with Disabilities Commission Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Macid Ayhan Melekoğlu, representatives of various non-governmental organizations and students.

2 May 2017 - "ACCESSIBILITY WORKSHOP" WAS HELD IN HIGHER EDUCATION COUNCIL (YÖK).

The "Accessibility Workshop" was organized by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), which considered the 2016-2017 academic year as a "Barrier-free Access" for people with disabilities in higher education, in order to raise awareness about the accessibility of people with disabilities to all places in higher education institutions and spread good practices.

Upon completion of the question and answer section, Council of Higher Education (YÖK) Student with Disabilities Commission Coordinator and Eskisehir Osmangazi University representative Assoc. Prof. Macid Ayhan Melekoğlu made a speech and realized the Workshop Closing.
